After years of anticipation, Zichron Yaakov’s famous pedestrian promenade — one of the most visited streets in Israel — is about to undergo a comprehensive renovation. As reported in Maariv this week, work is set to begin within days and will take approximately three months. To keep the street open throughout, works will be carried out in small sections at a time.
The project includes a new lighting system, shaded seating areas, improved access to the moshava’s courtyard spaces, upgraded landscaping, and art installations designed to give the promenade a stronger sense of character and identity. One hundred new parking spaces have been prepared nearby, and new public facilities installed for visitors. A new Gordonia hotel has recently opened in the area, with further hotels expected near the Wine Park and the winery.
As Head of the Local Council Eli Avutubol put it: “Tourism in Zichron Yaakov is our industrial zone. This is only the beginning.”
And this is just the beginning. Because once the renovation is complete, the midrachov — already one of the most beloved and visited streets in Israel — is planned to extend all the way to Giv’at Zemarín, in partnership with Israel’s Ministry of Tourism. For anyone who knows Zichron, that’s a significant moment. The midrachov is the beating heart of the moshava: the place people come to stroll, to eat, to browse, to simply be. Extending it opens up a whole new stretch of Zichron to that same energy — more footfall, more life, more of what makes this place special.
For the moshava as a whole, it represents a genuine step forward. Zichron Yaakov has always had the charm. What’s happening now is the infrastructure catching up with it.
Which is what makes the opportunity at HaNadiv 47 so well-timed. The land sits on the planned extension of the midrachov — right in the path of where all of this is heading. It is currently available for purchase, offered as a mixed-use development opportunity combining residential and commercial uses, woven into the future of the street itself.
